The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil rights law that aims for equal opportunity for people with disabilities to use the services provided in the United States. Presented by four members of the ADA National Network's Health Care Subcommittee, this webinar will lay the groundwork for understanding the responsibilities for health care providers under the ADA in the provision of health care services. We will cover the basic three areas: 1) facility access including: physical access to the building and exam rooms and accessible medical equipment; 2) effective communication with patients with disabilities; and 3) modification of programs, policies, and procedures.
