Campaign for Disability Employment

Summary
Join the movement to provide inclusive workplaces for all!

What do we want?  Access and Good Jobs for All!

When do we want it?  NOW!

What can YOU do?  Check out the Campaign for Disability Employment!

Every October the Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) (National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) | U.S. Department of Labor (dol.gov). NDEAM educates about disability and employment issues; and also celebrates the many contributions of employees with disabilities. This year's theme is "Access and Good Jobs for All."

The Campaign for Disability Employment (CDE), an initiative of ODEP, is a collaboration of a variety of disability and business organizations. The purpose is to promote supportive and inclusive workplaces for all workers. Members include Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN), National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Job Accommodation Network, and many others.

"What can YOU do?"  This is the question that The Campaign for Disability Employment is asking each of us! Not just for the month of October, but all year long.

And they even provide suggestions, resources and opportunities to enlist everyone's participation:

  • Play and Distribute CDE PSAs (Includes: "I Can," Mental Health at Work," Working Works.")
  • Download and Use CDE Resources (Ready to print articles, web and print ads, and more.)
  • Foster Disability Inclusion (Resources for Job Seekers and Employees.)
  • Subscribe to the CDE (E-alerts with positive news and messages about disability employment.)

So don't be left out - CDE invites everyone to come and join the movement
